The judges for the 2020 National Book Awards will select fifty longlist titles, which will be announced mid-September.
The National Book Foundation has opened submissions for the 71st National Book Awards and announced this year's slate of twenty-five judges for the categories of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, translated literature, and young people’s literature.
A lifelong Texan, Keaton Patterson, lead buyer for Brazos Bookstore in Houston, has been named a judge of the 2020 awards in the fiction category. He holds an MA in American Literature and lives with his wife and son in Pearland, Texas.
The judges for the 2020 National Book Awards will select fifty longlist titles, ten per category, which will be announced mid-September. There will be twenty-five finalists, to be announced on October 6. Winners in all five categories will be announced at the 71st National Book Awards in November.
