Often described as a "lesbian pioneer", Lilli Vincenz (1937-2023) was more than that. She was a psychotherapist, filmmaker, and activist dedicated to building an open, self-respecting LGBTQ community with full equality for all.  In 2013, working with Charles Francis, Lilli donated more than 10,000 items including her epic documentary Gay & Proud (1970), to the Library of Congress. Francis talks about the historic importance of Lilli Vincenz and her films with Steve Scully on C-span's American History TV.
