The TALL Texans Leadership Development Institute (TALL Texans) is a transformational program that helps participants learn and embrace their potential to take new initiatives for their institutions, profession, and stakeholders.
The Texas Library Association announced the TALL Texans Leadership Development Institute Class of 2019 last week. These individuals were selected from a pool of dynamic Texas library leaders to study strategic planning, risk-taking, conflict negotiation, persuasion, coaching, ethics, personal career planning, and more. Nationally-known leadership experts Maureen Sullivan and Jack Siggins will lead the Institute. The class will also be supported by six mentors who are leaders in the Texas library community. TALL Texans 2019 is July 21 – 25 at the Montserrat Retreat Center.

Five (5) years of experience working in libraries (MLS not required and experience need not be continuous.)
Current Texas Library Association membership
Ability to turn training into action
Desire to improve yourself, libraries, and communities
The Texas Library Association (TLA) was established in 1902 to promote, support, and improve library services in Texas. TLA boasts more than six thousand members from all library types: academic, public, school, and special. The mission of the TLS is to empower library personnel and supporters to develop library excellence for the people of Texas.
