$1,000 will be awarded to a winner in each category: prose, poetry, and creative nonfiction.

 

TEXLANDIA is a Texas-based literary, visual arts, and culture magazine, staffed by undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty at Rice University.

 

It is a nonprofit, all-volunteer publication, “seeking to promote the work of both established and aspiring writers and artists from Texas and beyond. We seek to (re)define places through the stories and art of the people who call them ‘home.’”

 

T E X L A N D I A  has opened submissions for your “most compelling and original fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, reportage, visual art, and hybrid works.” All submissions will be automatically considered for the "Best in the Land" Prizes. $1,000 will be awarded to a winner in each category: prose, poetry, and creative nonfiction.

T E X L A N D I A plans to offer an important outlet for open discourse and artistic expression. They are preparing to publish the first issue in the summer of 2021. Each summer, the annual print issue will be distributed throughout Houston and beyond, free of charge. Donations are welcomed.
